Perfect for a train loving toddler

Brilliant toy, I purchased alongside a train track toy for my nephew and he loved it. Very realistic sound for a kids toy and more child friendly than the wooden ones I saw.

Christmas present for Thomas fans!

My boys love this whistle, two year old twins, they are both fans of Thomas the tank engine as well as making music, this is a win on both accounts. Great for many play activities. I love it too :) they are quickly getting the hang of blowing it. It has a great sound, not offensive on anyway.

Not worth the money

The toy feels cheap and to be honest it’s likeSomething you would buy from a £ shop not worth £7.99 never mind £9.99

Fab train sound as not too loud a whistle

Lovely toy for little train enthusiasts.Great for parents too as the sound it makes isn't loud.

Not for all toddlers

If your child can hold a big breath and blow hard then yes it sounds like a train. If your toddler is learning and can't take a deep breath yet, don't buy. An adult always has to blow the whistle now as child can't.

Fab but the blue mouthpiece breaks off easily!

Makes a fab sound, my son loves it, BUT the blue mouthpiece falls off every time he drops it (which happens a lot because of his age). It does go back on okay if you line it up correctly, but it's still a nuisance!

Brilliant!

I saw this being used in a toddler class we go to for singing and wanted it (for myself too!) It sounds amazing, easy to use - 4yr old used it straight away but 2yr old struggled a little to blow hard enough but for there in the end. Hours of fun pretend play as train drivers/passengers/ticket collectors, used with Lego track, train tracks & 4 yr old currently trying to assemble the whole living room into a train! Great buy

Nice whistle

Nice sounds. Looks sturdy. Sadly, cannot use it for primary cause, but will give it as a present for my nephews.

Awesome

3 independent whistles, working from one mouthpiece. If you want to.... you can block off each one of the whistles and make different train sounds... and do cuckoo too!Love it.Much better than the wooden ones - which are good.

Lovely fun sound

I think this whistle is great. It makes a loud but nice 'woo! woo!' sound. Unfortunately my two year old thinks it's too loud and can't quite work out how to blow it. So it's going into a drawer for now and I'll try him with it again at Christmas when he'll be three years old.

Simple but fragile and is quite tricky to use properly.

You'd think a whistle would be the simplest thing in the world to use - however in this case it isn't, as the three tone whistle has to be used in a particular way to get the right sound with only a certain amount of puff, otherwise it doesn't work well.I got this for my 18-month old as he likes blowing things, has a little trumpet, a recorder etc - no expectations, just likes blowing and getting a noise. Thought this would be a good addition and on the face of it, things are positive - colourful, simple. In reality though it's let down in a couple of ways. Firstly. It's fragile - the top fell off very quickly. It's a push fit, so easy to repair but not at all robust.Secondly , when you get it right it makes a lovely three tone whistle - but it's not that easy to get right. The design means that a whistle hole is often covered by a finger, it also is sensitive to which way up and how you blow - I am not sure why, but it is - so getting the whistle is tricky.I can do it, however my son cannot and therefore has lost interest almost immediately. So I can only give it 3 stars - it does work, but considering it's a very simple toy, I think it could be designed better to fulfil that function.

Good deep sound

This makes an impressive deep train whistle sound and my 2.5 year old has been very impressed with it. We bought it over a month ago, and to start with all we heard around the house was this whistle followed by "all aboard" being yelled. I was slightly concerned that the mouthpiece was a little big for him, but though my son can't make as loud a whistle as an adult, he can make a decent whistle... and frequently and enthusiastically does. The mouthpiece has fallen off, as a previous review has pointed out, but you just put it back on again! It doesn't happen often, and it's not a problem when it does.I still think it makes an excellent sound and just adds to train playtimes - or just to playing in general.

fantastic toy! soothing music

My 4year old has been harrassing me for a whistle, when he got the whistle he then decided he wanted a trumpet because of the shrill sounds from the whistle however I wanted something which would deliver a soothing sound and this does it, its a soft sound, much less abrasive to the ear than a trumpet and any child can use it, in terms of durability, it looks ok but the top blue segment sometimes falls off, reckon its designed to do so to enable cleaning; but it snaps back on easily enough and does not impact the item at all. A good buy

A great toy

This was purchased for a friend's child with special needs and they have been very pleased with it. It was on their wish list so I didn't choose it myself but I understand it has been very useful in the child's development. The colours are bright and eye catching and is a good size to hold without being cumbersome.
